In Berlin, the first few months of the year are usually spent digesting the winter. Because winter in Berlin is long, gray and cold, and even the sunniest of our fellows tend to feel down. Fortunately, I didn't have time for depressive breakdowns because I was in the middle of preparing for the "ARTe" art fair in Osnabrück, where I exhibited my current works in March 2024.
A visitor from the north German coast acquired three works from the "Playa" series from 2022 to match her home region, which means that only 4 works from this 9-part series are still available.
All in all, there were many guests from northern Germany who, contrary to all clichés, proved to be very talkative. They made the 3-day fair a real highlight for me with many warm encounters.
However, most of the attention went to the brand new work "At ease" and the three works from the equally new series "At ease sequence", which you can read more about in a separate blog post. By a hair's breadth I wouldn't have been able to show them at all, because they were actually finished just a few days before the start of the fair and even still had the subtle, pleasant smell of linseed oil on them. As I said, there was a lot to do in the studio in spring 2024.
